An alluring room, inspired by the Ottoman-style, original “dolap” (small closet) built in the stone wall, in which you can offer a coin to the Universe, followed by a prayer to make your wish come true. The room has a double bed (2m x 140cm x 20cm) from wood and iron, that is handmade by the owners themselves. A hand-embroidered Wiehler Gobelin “Concert” by Kata’s mother and an antique walnut tree chest of drawers from the Yugoslavian period add an extra warm sense when waking up in the morning. The bathroom is in burgundy-cream tonalities.
The floor is wooden in brown color, based on the original mezzanine construction, so gentle vibration could be felt while walking in the room. Clothes wardrobe and doors are also handmade from wood. The original 60cm wide stone walls from 1935 are kept and refreshed with a shiny coat. Wool rug and white curtains with purple drapes on the windows emphasize the soul of this room which tells about the beauty linked to the passing of time, where imperfections and signs of aging are witnesses of real life, “lived” between those walls.
